Needless to say, Project Homeless Connect was amazing. But for those who are unfamiliar with Project Homeless Connect, PHC is Gateway Center’s annual services and information fair held in 1st floor. Every June, organizations from all over Atlanta come together under one roof to share about all they have to offer–making reliable information accessible to those living on the streets who otherwise may not know what resources are available to them. It was a great day filled with inspiring stories and community collaborations–two things we love at GWC!
If you weren’t able to make it, here’s what you missed this year:
1. 10 organizations turned out to educate the community!
Huge thank you to these folks for setting up a table and sharing about all of the great resources they have to offer:
– Atlanta Mission
– Central Outreach & Advocacy Center
– Covenant Community, Inc.
– Fulton County Public Library
– Georgia Department of Labor
– Life Changers (GWC)
– Mary Hall Freedom House
– Mercy Care Clinic
– Project Community Connections, Inc.
– Veterans Program (GWC)
Atlanta would be a darker place without these folks!
2. SO many donations!
– sack lunches
– water bottles
– hygiene kits (for men and women)
– fresh underwear
– travel mugs
– tote bags
… and much more. (A special thanks to Starbucks and Krispy Kreme for donating delicious goodies for our volunteers!)
3. TONS of committed volunteers!
We had nearly 30 volunteers at Project Homeless Connect this year! A new record!
4. Nail Clinic, Clothing Closet, Blood Pressure tests, and More…
It was truly a fantastic day and we could not have asked for a more committed community. Thank you for your generosity and care!
