EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Job Opportunities at Gateway Center

As a dynamic and forward thinking agency, the Gateway Center seeks to be visionary, creative, dedicated, and compassionate in our efforts to end homelessness. As a nonprofit, the Gateway Center is grateful for a dedicated Board of Directors and energetic volunteers that are committed to our mission and values.

But, day-to-day, 24/7, it is the Gateway Center (GWC) staff (full-time, part-time, temporary, and PRN) that make the difference in the lives of hundreds of clients and the GWC overall in its work, service provision, and programs implementation. The staff at the Gateway Center consists of professional, creative, motivated, and deeply committed individuals. If your own experience is backed by enthusiasm, a customer-focused approach, a can-do attitude, a willingness to collaborate and partner, and a desire to end homelessness, then you may want to consider joining Team Gateway. You, too, can be a part of living out the Gateway Center vision, mission, and core values … all focused on ending homelessness.

GWC Employment Application Process

  1. When positions are open, jobs are posted on the GWC website under the "About" tab, then "Employment" tab. Jobs may also be advertised in a variety of other venues, such as www.opportunityknocks.org and/or www.idealist.org.

  2. Anyone interested in an open position is invited to e-mail their resume and cover letter to jobs@gatewayctr.org (the subject line of the e-mail should specify the specific job in which you are interested).

  3. Applicants may not receive a response to their submitted resume.

  4. As resumes are reviewed, GWC will invite qualified applicants to submit a hard-copy application by mail or hand delivery to the Attention of Vince Smith, Executive Director (on-line submission is not available).

  5. GWC's official application is available on the website at the above mentioned page.

  6. Applications are reviewed and the GWC Executive Office first completes a telephone screening interview.

  7. Following the telephone screening interviews, prospective applicants may be invited to the GWC for a personal face-to-face interview with the Executive Office.

  8. When a candidate is selected, all those who had personal face-to-face interviews will receive a letter as to the job's disposition.

  9. All applicants may be subject to background checks, including, but not limited to criminal, employments, and financial. All applicants may also be subject to a drug test.

  10. After all of these steps are completed, the selected applicant for a position will receive an official employment offer letter from the Executive Office.

  11. Upon acceptance of a job offer, a start date will be established.
