On Friday, 6.20.14, the Gateway Center hosted our annual Project Homeless Connect information fair! Project Homeless Connect is an opportunity for organizations that provide homeless services to gather in one place so that clients can easily access each group and learn more about the help and programs available to them.

15 incredible organizations who work alongside Gateway to end homelessness in Atlanta came to help bridge the information gaps that often arise in social services due to clients’ limited access to computers, telephones, and transportation. Each group set up a table with resources, pamphlets, and representatives to speak to our guests about their organization. Mercy Care Clinic even set up a station to take blood pressure! Organizations present at Project Homeless connect included:

  1. Atlanta Mission
  2. AID Atlanta
  3. Central Outreach & Advocacy Center
  4. Community Friendship
  5. Atlanta-Fulton Public Library
  6. First Step Staffing
  7. Crossroads Community Ministries
  8. HOPE Atlanta/Traveler’s Aid
  9. GA Law Center for the Homeless
  10. Project Community Connections (PCCI)
  11. Salvation Army
  12. GA Department of Labor
  13. Georgia Works!
  14. Mercy Care Clinic
  15. United Way

We were grateful for the help of many wonderful volunteers who guided guests through the fair, as well as provided sack lunches, hygiene kits, and so much more. A special thanks also to StarbucksEinstein Bros, and Kroger for donating baked goods, coffee, and sandwich-making supplies for the event!
