Goodbye fall, and hello winter!
As all you Atlantans have felt in the past few days, Hurricane Sandy has brought some chills and strong winds through our fair city. And with the last week of October upon us, it is evident that winter is on her way! As the weather changes and we see more and more women and children in overflow, we need your help. The staff and volunteers of the Gateway Center believe that nobody should go to bed cold or hungry, even if that bed is a temporary mat on the floor in Gateway ‘s overflow program. So we are calling on the community to help out.
We are in need of some winter necessities- blankets, pillows, children’s pajamas, hygiene supplies, socks (and more socks!). If you would like to help end homelessness and change someone’s night (and down the road their life), please consider giving. You can do a holiday drive for any of these items at your school, church, or just with your friends or co-workers.
If you are interested in putting together a donation drive, please contact our Administrative Coordinator at 404.215.6604 and he will give you some help. Any and all donations we receive between November 7th and New Year’s day will be counted as a part of our annual GIFT Campaign, so you can give a double whammy!
Thank you for your work and partnership in ending homelessness in Atlanta!
