RECUPERATIVE
CARE UNIT

The Recuperative Care Unit is designed to give homeless men time to recuperate from their illness or injury in a recuperative setting rather than being discharged onto the streets or remaining in the medical unit of Grady Health System when such care is not mandated and is far more costly.

  • Operated in partnership with Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services
  • Provides 19 beds to men who have been referred to the program by Grady Memorial Hospital
  • Case managers help clients find appropriate housing or programs as they move out of the recuperative care unit
  • This program also provides the support of an on-site social worker to assess client needs and provide on-going client guidance as they move out of homelessness and into independent living.
