I agree to hold in confidence all information regarding clients of the Gateway Center and all of its partners.
I will not disclose to anyone other than an appropriate staff person matters of a private nature including client names, background, status, and other confidential information. I will respect the privacy of all people involved with the Gateway Center and will discuss any issues or concerns with my supervisor, program director, or executive director.
I will uphold and support the confidential relationships between the programs, their clients, staff, and volunteers. I will not remove from the Gateway Center offices any written records or copies thereof. Any written or electronic records I may be responsible for producing shall remain solely in the program files.
I hereby release the Gateway Center, its partners, officers, directors, employees, clients, agents, and volunteers for all claims, demands, and causes of action arising out of or in any way related to my involvement with the Gateway Center. My involvement with the Gateway Center is voluntary, and I am participating at my own risk.
Code of Ethics
The Gateway Center's (GWC) reputation for integrity and for providing leading services to Atlanta's homeless is its most valuable asset and is directly related to the conduct of its officers, employees and its volunteers. Therefore, employees and volunteers must never use their positions with the center, or any of its clients, for private gain, to advance personal interests or to obtain favors or benefits for themselves, members of their families or any other individuals, corporations or business entities.
The GWC adheres to the highest legal and ethical standards applicable in our business. The GWC's business is conducted in the strict observance of both the letter and spirit of all applicable laws and the integrity of each employee and volunteer is of utmost importance.
Employees and Volunteers of the GWC shall conduct their personal affairs in such a fashion that their duties and responsibilities to the GWC are not jeopardized and/or legal questions do not arise with respect to their association or work with the center.
As a vital part of our work and team each volunteer is expected to adhere to the following policies and protocols.

Confidentiality Release and Discipline Disclaimer
We value our client’s privacy and security. For this reason, we ask that you review our volunteer polices and protocols.
Failure to abide by the Gateway Center Volunteer Policies and Protocols could result in discipline of a volunteer. Dismissal of a volunteer will take place if performance is unsatisfactory or behavior is unacceptable. The volunteer and staff member in the volunteer’s service area may meet with the Volunteer Coordinator in an effort to rectify any misunderstandings.
All client information is confidential and should not be shared with any person or agency. If a client voices matters regarding self-harm or violence, please immediately inform a staff member. Volunteers are not to attempt case management. We cannot release personal information of clients.
Photographs of clients may never be taken under any circumstances.

Additional confidentiality and boundary training is offered on a monthly basis.
I understand that I am serving as a volunteer for the Gateway Center and that I will not be compensated for my efforts. I hereby release and hold harmless this agency the 24/7 Gateway Center by any injury sustained by me. I knowingly and freely assume all risk associated with my participation at the Gateway center. I understand, and agree that photographs, images, or other likenesses of me or quotes attributed by me may be used by the Gateway Center.
