Rebecca ‘Bec’ Cranford joined the Gateway Center in 2012. Bec believes in mutual transformation through service. Bec holds a MDiv from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Sciene in Practical Theology from Southeastern University. Bec has worked in various educational, outreach, and parachurch organizations. Bec started her career in service with Americorps in 1998 working with a rural poverty and Texas literacy initiative. As the agency’s Director of Community Engagement and Volunteer Services, Bec loves serving others; educating the community about homelessness and making individuals aware of volunteer service opportunities at the Gateway Center. Bec is a contextual education site supervisor for Candler School of Theology; serves as a guest lecturer in community; and is often invited to speak at various conferences about social service and justice. When Bec isn’t at the Gateway Center, she enjoys visiting antique stores, painting with acrylics, or hiking with her dog Basil.
