Dr. Mark Holzberg

Dr. Mark Holzberg is a board-certified dermatologist and established Newnan Dermatology (now Avail Dermatology) in Newnan Georgia. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in 1983. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory and teaches diseases and tumors of the nail at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Holzberg lectures, edits textbooks and authors numerous articles in dermatology. He is past President of the Atlanta Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and past President of the Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Holzberg was the Dermatology Foundation Practitioner of the Year in 2016.

Dr. Holzberg’s philanthropic work has been as past Georgia Vice Chair for the Dermatology Foundation and in patient dermatologic health issues. He has lobbied Georgia senators and representatives on Capitol Hill in Washington on behalf of dermatologic patients through the American Academy of Dermatology for many years and has testified and worked on patient issues here in the Georgia legislature. More recently, Dr. Holzberg established a free dermatology clinic for the homeless at the Mercy Care Clinic @ Gateway Center. With a close friend and associate, Dr. Holzberg helped to establish the Advisory Council for Gateway Center. The Advisory Council has recruited recognized leaders in the Atlanta community to act in the Council as a “think tank” and advocacy group for Gateway helping Gateway Center accomplish its mission of making homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring.
