Rebecca “Bec” Cranford
Rebecca Cranford-Smith, Volunteer Coordinator
Bec received her B.A. in Biblical Theology and Practical Theology in Missions at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. She will be granted her MDiv from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in May of 2013. Bec’s work experience revolves around education and service. Bec served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in a grant writing role for a rural poverty and transportation project in Elgin, Texas. In addition, Bec has experience teaching and facilitating ESL and GED courses. Bec has worked at various churches and para church ministries in outreach, recovery, and educational fields. Bec focuses on ecumenical unity and missional work in her spare time, speaking at such events as “The Wildgoose Festival” and at the “Outlaw Preachers Conference.” Bec Cranford-Smith joined Gateway in March of 2012, as the volunteer coordinator. She works with many groups, organizations, businesses, and schools to facilitate educational, relational, and service projects at Gateway. Her favorite part of the job revolves around challenging stereotypes of homelessness and working with large groups of young people. Bec also enjoys getting creative collaboration on fun art projects with Gateway clients.
