Drink Beer, Do Good™ is BACK!!!  Gateway Center is hosting our annual volunteer appreciation event, and this year we will host an in-person 5K Walk/Run as part of our Drink Beer, Do Good™ Event.

On May 14 at 10AM, runners and walkers will have the opportunity to join us at Westside Park to participate in our 5K. We will have overall awards for male and female, and then additional awards by age brackets.

Once the race and award ceremony conclude, we will head over to Bold Monk to recognize our Individual Volunteer of the Year and our Corporate Volunteer of the Year.  These honorees are being recognized for their above-and-beyond service, leadership, employee engagement, and commitment to social responsibility.  They have assisted Gateway Center in our ability to improve the experiences for our guests, embodied our mantra of #EverybodyVsHomelessness, and helped us aid our guests in finding #awayhome.

  • OUR AWARDEES

    Outstanding Corporate Volunteer

Presented to Ironclaim for outstanding contributions to Gateway Center during the past year by both their CEO and employees. During the past year, Ironclaim not only supported Gateway Center financially, but they also hosted a corporate volunteer event where they provided a makeover for our Trinity Women’s Center! This award recognizes Ironclaim for their compassion for our guests and excellence in corporate social responsibility. Their gifts supported our efforts to ensure our guests have the resources they need, including a comfortable and safe place to call home as they transition from homelessness to stable housing.

    Outstanding Individual Volunteer

Presented to Kashi Sehgal for her outstanding contributions to Gateway Center. Kashi, along with a large team of volunteers, serves an annual Thanksgiving breakfast to over 500 people experiencing homelessness. In 2021, Kashi organized this event, collected donations, and worked to ensure that each person felt dignified and celebrated as they entered the door. In addition, Kashi worked to secure a large Chick-fil-A food donation for Gateway Center. Kashi also works alongside our CEO, Raphael Holloway, to create technology solutions that effectively reach those experiencing homelessness. She remains dedicated to the mission of Gateway Center and passionate for justice issues for all people in the City of Atlanta.  This award recognizes Kashi Sehgal for displaying excellence in serving individuals experiencing homelessness and modeling social responsibility at the highest level, particularly as it relates to Gateway Center and our efforts to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
